Sustainability of the 'aluminum in construction


Aluminum is a very young material, obtained for the first time in 1854. Product commercially as a precious metal from 1886, its industrial production took off only in the 50s. The first known application of aluminum in the construction of buildings dating back to 1898, when the dome of San Gioacchino church in Rome was covered with aluminum foil. The incredible rise of the Empire State Building in New York, dating back to 1931 and inspired by Art Deco, was the first building in which it was used anodized aluminum.
